A pedestrian bridge?
Dear Editor:
My wife and I always stop numerous times at various stores in Wiscasset during our annual vacation to the Boothbay region. I recently read in the Boston Globe about the proposed streetscape changes to improve traffic flow. The proposal may improve flow somewhat, but at the expense of access to businesses.
I don’t see a significant improvement to traffic flow unless something is done to alleviate vehicles stopping at the street crossing at Red’s. Has there been any consideration of a pedestrian bridge near Red’s, over Route 1?
With all the summer foot traffic, this would alleviate cars stopping to allowing people to cross Route 1.
