Pemaquid Chapter, DAR
The Pemaquid Chapter, DAR celebrated the holidays and the year’s achievements at the Lincoln Home on Saturday, Dec. 9. In spite of the pending snowstorm, there were 19 in attendance. The meeting was shortened to accommodate a potluck luncheon and a Yankee Gift Swap.
Margaret Long of East Boothbay was officially sworn in as a new member of the chapter by Shirley Peverly.
Unofficial meetings will continue to take place, weather permitting, the second Tuesday of January, February and March. These meetings will discuss ways the chapter can contribute to the maintenance of the cemeteries in Lincoln County.
Jean Hoyenski made fudge as a gift for the Lincoln Home, and Regent Audrey Miller made a wreath to present to Yellowfront Grocery for their support of the fundraising bake sales throughout the year. Socks, calendars, note cards and toiletries were collected for veterans in Togus. Holiday cards were signed.
The luncheon ended with a singing of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.”
