Priscilla was born on Feb. 15, 1937 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Frank and Hilder Knowlton. She is survived by her husband Thomas, her loving partner in life for 62 years; son Thomas, Jr. and his wife Ann, of Andover, Massachusetts; son John and his wife Yolande of North Conway, New Hampshire, son-in-law David Spencer of Dresden, Maine; five grandchildren, Sarah, William, Isabel, Abigail and Tommy; one great-grandchild, Eleanor Lisa, and nieces and nephews Susan, Karen (Puddy) and Braddy.
She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Tavenner Spencer and her only sibling, her sister Natalie.
Priscilla grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts and attended Skidmore College. Following graduation she worked at Harvard College where she met the love of her life Thomas where he was completing his law degree. They married in Portland, Oregon in 1959 and moved to Boothbay in 1975. Priscilla was proud to be part of and an active member of the community and the Congregational Church and volunteered for several causes true to her heart.
Priscilla was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and still found time to run her husband’s law office for 37 years before retiring in 2018. She had a great love for cooking, gardening, playing the piano, traveling and most of all being surrounded by family and friends for any occasion. Her sense of humor was infectious, selfless generosity beyond measure and innate ability to spin a story unique in every respect inevitably ending in roaring laughter by all. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers if you wish to donate, select a charity of your choice in Priscilla’s memory.
