Proud of my President
Dear Editor:
Recently there was a letter to the Lincoln County News that stated President Trump has accomplished nothing. This is a rebuttal to that statement.
The following results (accomplishments) can be found on www.treasury.gov: U.S. unemployment at its lowest rate in nearly 50 years, 24 states have tied or sent their all time record low unemployment, minority unemployment also at all-time lows, record numbers of Americans are in the work force, wage growth is 3% per year, single family home sales were up 31% last year, poverty rate fell to a 17-year low, real disposable income up 2.9%, the economy has added more than seven million jobs (5.1 million more than the Congressional Budget office had projected), there are now more jobs than workers, and the GDP is 320 billion more than the CBO’s 2016 projection.
Accomplishments not related to the economy include the destruction of the ISIS state, Christians in the United States and around the world now have support from our President, our Israeli Embassy has been moved to Jerusalem (a promise that was made and broken by presidents since Eisenhower), he is bringing pressure on North Korea in a peace through strength initiative, he is providing weapons and support to the Ukraine to aid them against Russian aggression and is taking a stand against corruption in their country. As a businessman and deal maker he is holding China accountable for their unfair business practices, he is renegotiating trade treaties which have not represented the best interests of the U.S. and our workers, he is holding NATO countries to their promises and is saving the U.S. billions of dollars. President Trump now has the world’s attention and respect. As President he is no longer apologizing to countries who are not our friends, he has stepped back into the role as leader of the free world, and is unashamed of his polity in which he is putting “America First.” I, for one, am proud to call him my President.
