Reservations for a dinner at the historic Turner Farm on North Haven Island are as rare as hen’s teeth these days — and a reservation combined with a round-trip ticket on Captain John Morin’s Equinox transit service out of Rockland are even more difficult to obtain. But the Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) has assembled their sixth annual “Treat for Two” raffle package with a reservation date of Thursday, Aug. 11 and is inviting the general public to purchase a chance to win this spectacular Maine excursion and organic farm-to-table meal. The winning ticket will be drawn during the LCDC’s annual Family Fun Day Lobster Bake, Sunday, Aug. 7. The winners will be notified that evening.

Raffle tickets are $30 each for a chance to win a prize package worth more than $300 which includes round-trip transportation from Rockland to the island, a tour of the farm, a multi-course meal, local brew and wine, spectacular twilight views and lively conversation for two guests. 

Erin French, founder of Lost Kitchen Restaurant, recommends the Turner Barn experience on her website:“It’s the journey to get there that is three-quarters the fun... Make sure to keep an extra eye out for special event barn dinner events at Turner Farm.”

Past winners have really enjoyed their Treat for Two evenings. 

“The winner of this raffle will treasure their memories of the experience,” said Valarie Johnson, who has organized the raffle for the past several years. “Where else can a couple have such a unique, enjoyable evening out including a five-course meal, local brew and wine, all on a Maine island for a $30 luck-of-the-draw? Every year I receive great compliments so this is a must have event.”

“We had a beautiful ride out. It was a gorgeous evening,” shared Juliet, during the interview, “When we arrived it was so spectacular. We were just in awe of the view.”

The LCDC uses the money they raise through this and other fundraising initiatives to support their local efforts in Lincoln County. Its grassroots mission is to organize volunteers and communicate with voters in support of candidates who believe in the Democratic ideals and principles of government by, of, and for all the people.
