The role of gut health featured at August Diabetes Support Group
The importance of dietary fiber and other key elements of gut health will be the topic of the next Diabetes Support Group on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The discussion begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellness and Rehab Center in the Webster Van Winkle Building on LincolnHealth’s Miles campus in Damariscotta. The program will also be available via Zoom.
Registered Dietitian Audrey Cooper will explain the relationship between diabetes and the gut, along with fibers’ role in controlling blood sugar. She will also share some tips on how to add fiber to meals to improve gut health.
The Diabetes Support Group meetings are free and open to adults living with diabetes and their families. Pre-registration is recommended due to limited seating and the need to provide a Zoom link prior to the meeting to those who cannot be there in person.
