Sale at Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop Nov. 6
On (not so) Early Bird Saturday, Nov. 6, the Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop in downtown Damariscotta will hold a day-long sale of 20 percent off all regular items in the store except for gift certificates.
For this special sale, the shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing an hour later than usual.
Items on sale include dozens of categories of hardcover and paperback books for adults and children, as well as puzzles, DVDs, CDs, and videotapes.
Also available that day will be Skidompha T-shirts, mugs, and bumper stickers; these items will not be on sale.
According to Rosie Bensen, co-manager of the store, “Today’s news is full of stories about delayed production and delivery of items that people might want for the holidays. But our shelves are well-stocked, right now. There’s no waiting or uncertainty when people shop with us.”
The book shop, located at 17 Backstreet Landing, is a major fundraiser for Skidompha Public Library. All items are donated, all staff members are volunteers, and all proceeds support the library’s programs and collections.
The shop is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations are accepted all day on Mondays, and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, four bags or boxes per visit.
