Stover deserves a second term
Dear Editor:
As we close in on the final days of the most consequential election of our lifetimes, one cannot overstate the importance of our representation at all levels of government. Here in Maine, where our public and economic health is inextricably linked due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those serving in our state legislature are key to steering Maine out of crisis and toward better days for us all.
Representative Holly Stover is seeking re-election to a second term serving District 89 (Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, So. Bristol, Southport, and Westport Island). Her dedication to the health, safety, and economic stability of each and every one of her constituents as well as to the small businesses and industry in her district drives her public service – I know because I proudly serve alongside her.
Holly is my “seatmate” on the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services. The depth of her Human Services and Community Health experience — including 23 years with Maine DHHS and within District 89 leading the establishment of Lincoln County Dental and work with people impacted by substance use disorder — informs her work on our committee, where she is a “go to” member for her knowledge and expertise.
Excellent leadership requires honesty and integrity, dedication to understanding the needs and values of her constituents, and a willingness to work collaboratively to improve the lives of all Mainers — that’s Holly.
Representative Stover is the right choice for a second term in the Maine House of Representatives — because who represents us matters.
Representative Michele Meyer
