Summer Gala celebrates the ‘Year of the Storyteller’
The Waldo Theatre will hold a Summer Fundraising Gala on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m., overlooking Muscongus Harbor in Round Pond. This year’s theme “Once Upon a Time on the Medomak” reflects our year-long focus on storytelling and the role of the storyteller in bringing art and culture to life.
“We invite everyone to join our growing Waldo Theatre community as we celebrate the successful return of our landmark theatre gem, and look toward the future,” said Susan Hodder, The Waldo’s executive director. “The impact of a successful event will truly make an important and lasting difference for The Waldo. We hope you’ll contribute to that success by joining us for cocktails and conversation on August 6th!”
The gala, which will take place outside on a lawn rolling down to the harbor, will feature hors d’oeuvres, live music by Tom DiMenna, a silent auction, and open bar with inspired signature cocktails created specifically for the event, including The Federico Fellini, The Truman Capote, The Oscar Wilde, and several other refreshing libations. Suggested attire for the gala is Maine resort casual.
Proceeds from this important event will be applied toward the general fund that helps keep the building warm in winter, cool in summer, and well-maintained throughout the year.
Individual tickets are $75, and may be purchased online from The Waldo’s website.
