In results Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit 12 Superintendent of Schools Howie Tuttle provided, district voters on June 14 approved the $25.5 million, 2022-23 budget.

Tuttle said Alna passed it 102-11; Westport Island, 233-49; Chelsea, 151-54; Palermo, 196-61; Somerville, 69-45; Whitefield, 169-51; and Windsor, 200-104, for a district-wide win of 1120-375, or 75% approval.

"The RSU 12 Board of Directors would like to thank the RSU 12 community for the continued support of education. Ultimately, it is our students and our future community who benefit from this support,” Tuttle stated in an email June 15.

A second question, to keep holding the referendum, also passed in all towns: Alna, 75-33; Westport Island, 195-82; Chelsea, 138-63; Palermo, 173-81; Somerville, 80-32; Whitefield, 151-66; and Windsor, 213-93. The district-wide tally was 1025-450, or 69% approval.
