Teamwork and the American way
Kudos to Woolwich’s and Kennebec Estuary Land Trust’s plans for projects near George Wright Road, with help from state and federal funds. As we have seen in other area towns, nonprofits often know of grants a local project could be competitive on; and nonprofits are well-versed in seeking the grants because the aid, along with donations, can be key to the nonprofits’ own environmental or other missions.
Some projects towns might otherwise have to go with the bare minimum on can instead be something better and maybe longer lasting, with less impact on property taxes than if the town had to completely foot it.
Entities with the same goals are stronger as a team.
Week’s positive parting thought: Whoever you might choose for President in November, be unafraid to support them publicly, as Americans were doing in Pennsylvania last weekend. The public process and the privacy of the voting booth are how the U.S. elects people, and how America rejects violence and fear.
