Baked stuffed haddock for $6.50? Seafood Newburg for less than $10.

Yes, those are just two of the several discounted meals being offered at the Tugboat Restaurant, 80 Commercial Street in Boothbay Harbor during its Throwback Thursday dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 18.

Recently, Debbie Wickert, Tugboat’s dining room manager, found an old dining guide in her mother’s hope chest, and it had the menus from 1976. She posted that menu on Facebook, had several great comments, and the idea was born.

“Why not have a throwback dinner on a slow night in November, as a thank you to all the folks who have patronized us over the years,” said Wickert, who said that owner Ramsey LaFayette approved the idea.

“We took the original 1976 menu, made a couple of very small edits (no prices, just had to remove a couple of items) and set a date for Nov. 18,” said Tugboat’s general manager Bonnie Stover.

No discounts or coupons can be used for this special meal and no takeout will be available.
