Vince Herman and Sam Grisman Duo - Jan. 25
Music lovers, ease into the new year by joining us at The Waldo for this intimate acoustic show with Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon) and Sam Grisman (of the Sam Grisman Project) on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
These legendary musicians are pairing up to bring a heartfelt, brilliantly curated evening of music paying tribute to the legacy of Sam’s father, David “Dawg” Grisman, Jerry Garcia, John Kahn, John Hartford and many more!
Pairing together for just four intimate shows in the Northeast, they’ll be playing NYC; Troy, NY; and Boston before wrapping up the run in Waldoboro at The Waldo. The partnership between Herman and Grisman reflects that of the senior Grisman and Garcia - with Sam playing mandolin like his dad and bass.
Grisman and Garcia recorded a series of duo albums in the 90s, at the peak of the Grateful Dead’s touring career, including the Grammy-nominated "Jerry Garcia/David Grisman," "Shady Grove," and "Not For Kids Only."
"For as long as I can remember I’ve been encountering the great Vince Herman out in the wild with Leftover Salmon. I grew up going to festivals with my pop and we would always have a great time playing music and spending time with Vinny anytime we crossed paths," said Sam Grisman. “He’s always been someone who I’ve looked up to as a positive force in our music scene and like me, he’s always game for some good tunes. Vince and I are looking forward to pairing up, picking and puffing our way through some of our favorite songs for all of you fine northeasterners for these special intimate DUO show."
Adult tickets are available in advance online for $40 and $45 the day of the show. If not sold out, tickets will be available at the box office when doors open at 6:30 p.m. Concessions will be available. Show at 7:30 p.m.
