This week at The Lincoln
After a successful launch in 2019, the third season of The MidCoast Film Fest sets sail on Friday, July 29 and continues through Sunday, July 31. Join us in kicking off the weekend with an opening reception, catered by Seacoast Catering, beginning Friday at 6pm and followed by a screening of “Imber’s Left Hand” from filmmaker Richard Kane (Truth Tellers). A full weekend packed with original films from filmmakers around the world. See one, or see them all!
“Official Competition” - (R; 1 hour, 55 minutes, in Spanish with English subtitles) - When a billionaire entrepreneur impulsively decides to create an iconic movie, he demands the best. Renowned filmmaker Lola Cuevas (Penélope Cruz) is recruited to mastermind this ambitious endeavor. Completing the all-star team are two actors with massive talent but even bigger egos: Hollywood heartthrob Félix Rivero (Antonio Banderas) and radical theatre actor Iván Torres (Oscar Martínez). Both are legends, but not exactly best friends. Through a series of increasingly eccentric trials set by Lola, Félix and Iván must confront not only each other, but also their own legacies. Final showings Wednesday, July 27 at noon (earlier start time) and at 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday, July 28.
Y Arts presents: “101 Dalmations KIDS!” - Disney’s classic animated tale of kidnapping villains and courageous puppies is adapted in this "fur-tastic" musical adventure. Pet owners, Roger and Anita, live happily in London with their Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, stalwart dogs devoted to raising their puppies. Everything is quiet until Anita's former classmate, the monstrous Cruella De Vil, plots to steal the puppies for her new fur coat. The Dalmatians rally all the dogs of London for a daring rescue of the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen. We ask that you please consider wearing a mask for this event. Tickets: $5 general admission. Thursday, July 28 at 5 p.m. and Friday, July 29 at 2 p.m.
