West Forks crash kills Woolwich woman
On Tuesday, July 30 at approximately 2:20 a.m., Somerset County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 201 in West Forks Plantation. Sergeant Ritchie Putnam, Deputy Stacey Slate and Deputy Marcus Ramirez responded. Deputy Slate is the primary investigator of this crash. The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Dodge Durango appeared to be traveling northbound when it crossed the center line, went off the road into the southbound ditch, and struck a tree. The operator and only occupant of the vehicle, Judy Rowe, 69, of Woolwich was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rowe was reportedly wearing her seatbelt. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
