Westport Column: Chance for children to sing
Hello friends and neighbors!
I hope you all enjoyed a bountiful Thanksgiving with family or friends. This world certainly has more than its share of problems, but every now and then it is important for us to pause and take stock of what we have to be thankful for. One of the best ways to show gratitude is helping those less fortunate than we are. The season of giving is here! I hope you find a special way to reach out to others.
If you are a child or know a child who would like to be part of Westport’s Children’s Choir on Sunday, Dec. 3, please contact Bobbi Newberg at 882-4742. The one and only rehearsal will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2, and no experience is necessary! This is an opportunity to join with others in joyful songs of the season. Don’t be shy!
The Westport Community Association invites everyone to be part of their Old Fashioned Christmas celebration at the Historic Church at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Join in singing carols with the community before lighting the tree outside and adjourning to the Old Town Hall for refreshments and camaraderie. The word is out that Santa will be making an appearance! Special thanks to the First National Bank for helping to sponsor this event.
