Hello friends and neighbors!
The holidays are upon us, so let’s get ready! Lucky for you, D-zerts by Daphne is available right here on the Island to help with your entertaining needs. You may have noticed that Daphne Cromwell’s PIES signs on the Main Road advertise a variety of scrumptious options available to you. If you would like to order a pie for Thanksgiving, please call Daphne at 882-6652 by Monday, Nov. 20 to let her know. Daphne’s pie choices include blueberry, mixed berry, pumpkin, lemon meringue, pecan, Key lime and Tollhouse for $15. (Prices for gluten free or vegan offerings may be slightly different.) Daphne also bakes cookies, cupcakes, and bars for purchase. Let D-zerts by Daphne help make your holiday parties a little easier with her delicious homemade additions to your menu.
The Westport Community Association (WCA) is seeking children from on or off the Island to be part of a Children’s Choir on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. No experience is necessary. Any young person who would like to participate should contact Bobbie Newberg, Co-president of the WCA, at Liv3rdi@yahoo.com or call her at 882-4742. The emphasis is on excitement and fun, so there will be only one rehearsal on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Historic Westport Church (next to the Old Town Hall). If you would like to know what selections have been chosen, Bobbie will gladly send you the music in advance. What a great opportunity for children to share in the joy of the season!
The WCA hopes for a good island turnout to its Old Fashioned Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 3. Join your neighbors under the ambience of the oil-lit lamps in the Historic Church at 4 p.m. to sing carols and welcome the season of giving. The festivities continue afterwards next door at the Old Town Hall where Christmas goodies and hot drinks will be available. Hope to see you there!
