The Wiscasset Select Board is seeking individuals who are interested in opportunities to become involved in the community by serving on several boards or committees.
The Select Board is looking for people to serve on the newly formed Climate Action Team. The CAT will be working with Sunrise Ecologic and the Community Resilience Partnership of the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future to assess ways to become more resilient to the effects of climate change, such as extreme weather events, flooding, sea level rise and more. The committee will consist of nine members. Bylaws and meeting schedules are not yet established for this committee.
The Board is looking for two regular members and two alternate members to serve on the Board of Appeals. The Planning Board is responsible administering Article VII Subdivisions, Article VIII Site Plan Review and performs any other duties and exercises any other power provided by Wiscasset ordinances and state statutes. The PB meets on the second and fourth Monday evening of each month, though they may meet less often depending on need.
