Woman arrested in Gardiner in connection with Dresden arson

On Thursday, April 25 at about 7:20 a.m., a vehicle fire was discovered off Alexander Road in Dresden. The Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the fire which was intentionally set. The investigation led to the arrest of 28-year-old Stephanie Lamoreau who is unhoused. She was arrested April 26 on Warren Avenue, Gardiner on charges of Arson, Aggravated Criminal Mischief and Unauthorized Use of Property.
Lamoreau allegedly took a vehicle from an associate of hers without that person’s permission. Lamoreau was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Bail was set at $5,000 cash. The Fire Marshal’s Office was assisted throughout the investigation by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Gardiner Police Department.
