Woolwich’s Yule Sing Dec. 8
Woolwich will host its 27th annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Yule Sing at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 at the historic Nequasset Meeting House across from the town office.
Attendees are invited to bring donations of non-perishable food items for families in need. The items will go to Bath Area Food Bank.
This year’s program will again feature live holiday music performed by the Montsweagers and others. There will also be a traditional reading of “Twas the Night before Christmas” as performed by Ann Pierson and friends. Selectman and District 53 Rep. Allison Hepler has offered to serve as master of ceremonies. “I always look forward to the sparkle and magic and especially the unexpected surprises of this wonderful community event,” said Hepler.
The program includes a visit by Santa and concludes with free hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies. The town’s Special Events Committee is hosting the event.
Also, “Christmas Past,” a collection of nostalgic holiday ornaments from the 1940s and 50s from the collection of Carol Grose, is on display in the Woolwich Municipal Building. The colorful and unique ornaments can be seen in Woolwich Historical Society’s display case in the front lobby. The town office lobby and bathroom will be open during the Yule Sing.
