Youngsters learn where food comes from
Midcoast Maine Community Action Head Start has collaborated with Morris Farm to celebrate National Farm to Head Start Day on October 18. Events will take place form 10 a.m. to noon at the Morris Farm.
Come join Expert Chief for Guiding Stars, Erin Dow, and harvest beets from the Head Start Community Garden to make a fresh roasted beet salad. Participants will also learn how to make fresh farm cheese out of milk from the farm. All children and families will be able to participate in harvesting and cooking. Let’s go back to the basics and learn where our food comes from.
Join us in becoming a conscious community and making efforts improve food education and healthful food availability. Every child that attends will receive a Farm Stand Card to spend on local food from local farmers.
