Rob Duquette returns to the Chocolate Church
Musician Rob Duquette will perform twice in one day at the Chocolate Church Arts Center Saturday, Feb. 9. at 3 and 7:30 p.m. once with Amanda Panda and later with the band Duquette.
The 3 p.m. show with Amanda Panda will have children laughing, singing, and dancing with joy. Amanda Panda is a puppet created by Amanda Parkhurst who sings with Dan Duquette. “She's a kid magnet, I've never seen anyone else so naturally good with them!” said Duquette. Parkhurst’s music revolves around themes of mindfulness, compassion, family, friends, kindness, and silliness. The pair have performed and recorded music together. Rob Duquette – founder and leader of the band Duquette– has made his career since the mid-1990’s as a well respected, in-demand sideman, most notably as a member of Jonathan Edwards’ touring band. He has also regularly played with other notables like Jack Sonni (Dire Straits) and the legendary composer David Amram over the past 15 years. Duquette has been on a national solo tour for much of 2018 and will continue this into 2019. The band consists of Jake Sturtevant on the keys, John Kumnick on the bass with guitarist Dave Gutter, the bandleader of Rustic Overtones. These musicians have worked with the likes of David Bowie, Cindy Lauper, and Aaron Neville to name a few.
