The First Congregational Church of Wiscasset will once again celebrate the fifth Sunday of the month on March 31 with a hymn sing. In lieu of the morning’s sermon, hymns selected by the members and visitors will be sung.

Rev. Josh Fitterling reminds us that as we journey through the season of Lent, a time which is often more reflective before the darkness of Good Friday, we remember the power of music to see us through the challenging times of life.

A fifth Sunday occurs only four times in 2019 and each will be celebrated with music selected by the congregation. The tradition of encouraging requests for favorite hymns began last year and will continue each month containing a fifth Sunday. The next hymn sing is on June 30.
