On Monday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m., The Friends of Colonial Pemaquid begin its 2019 Jan Howell Memorial Lecture Series with an evening program entitled, “The French and Indian Wars: Survival on the Maine Frontier,” presented by Mike Dekker. The lecture showcases the impact the regional conflict had on the coast of Maine in general, and on Pemaquid in particular.

Growing up and residing in mid coast Maine, Mike Dekker has developed a life-long passion for the region’s past. An avid student of early American history and material culture, he presents educational programs for historical societies, museums, historic sites, schools and the public. Mike is the author of the book, The French and Indian Wars In Maine.

The lecture, which is free to members, $5 for non-members, will be held at the Learning Center at Bristol’s Lighthouse Park.

Mark your calendar for next week’s special event entitled, “Pirates at Pemaquid – The Infamous Dixie Bull Strikes Again,” which will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 1 and 3 pm on the grounds of Ft. William Henry.
