His time
Dear Editor:
Thursday evening during the storm my husband John and I were eating supper and I saw a bright flash outside then saw a pole lying sideways on top of a truck. We ran out to help the driver then each took part of the road to direct traffic.
John suddenly just dropped and stopped breathing. One of our neighbors with Edgecomb Rescue was there and she tried for over an hour, along with other crew members who came to the scene, but he never had a heartbeat again.
I called my son who lives in North Windham to come and he had a difficult journey, even the hearse had a hard time and my son got there just when John was being loaded. My son is a Life Flight of Maine paramedic. He said they did a fantastic job trying to save his father and he will be forever grateful for what they did for him as am I. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
John died on his back looking up into the trees and snow. It is what he would have wanted if it was his time.
