Holly Stover: A good choice
Dear Editor:
In 2018, the towns of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, South Bristol (part), Southport, and Westport Island elected Holly Stover to represent us in Augusta. Holly took her lifetime of experience in social work, and her deep understanding of how government works, and turned it into results for us. In two short years Holly has sponsored and passed bills to protect our marine resources by limiting the use of single-use plastic bags, made it easier for those struggling with substance abuse to obtain treatment, and worked with the rest of the legislature and the governor to make Maine the leader in the nation for dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic.
It’s this last accomplishment I’m most grateful for. I can send my son to school, and be visited by my elderly parents, because of the course Holly has helped chart through this difficult time. She listens to the science, and makes the right choices for our health and safety. We need a legislator who trusts the experts, supports common sense measures like mask wearing, and strikes the right balance between safety and getting back to normal. It is exactly this emphasis on safety that has allowed Maine to get back to normal faster than any other state in the nation.
I hope you’ll join me in voting for Holly Stover for Maine House Representative before (in person at your town office or by mail) or on Nov. 3.
