Wiscasset changes pattern for public at town office
Following the announcement of Gov. Janet Mills’s stage 4 reopening plan, Wiscasset Town Manager Dennis Simmons has announced a change at the town office. Entrance to the public counter will now be through the meeting room doors at the end of the building, and the exit will be out the Route 1 door. This is the opposite of the pattern that was in place.
Masks are required and are available at the entrance. Physical distancing markers are on the floor. The rest of the building remains off limits.
“We take the safety of our citizens and staff seriously and we ask that you comply with the Governor’s orders,” said Simmons.
An absentee ballot drop box has been placed on the entrance end of the building. Voters may drop their absentee ballots off in this box until 8 p.m. Nov 3. To ensure integrity, the box is monitored by video camera 24/7.
