Maine State Music Theatre elects new board of trustees
Maine State Music Theatre has elected one new member to their board of trustees. Cherie Scott of Boothbay is eligible to serve on the Board of Trustees for two three-year terms.
Scott was born in Mumbai but now calls Maine her home. In 2015, she launched her culinary blog, MumbaitoMaine.com, to share her signature recipes and nostalgic anecdotes of her youth in Mumbai. Cherie recently curated a culinary series on regional Indian cuisine offered exclusively at the Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School in York, Maine. She is the host of “Talking Food In Maine, Intimate Conversations” exploring Maine’s rich culinary scene at the historic Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta.
To celebrate Maine’s bicentennial and gastronomic talent, Cherie launched Mumbai to Maine’s podcast with a signature series: Maine’s Bicentennial Food Podcast – a bi-weekly culinary podcast sponsored by Maine Magazine’s Eat Maine. Each episode showcases Maine’s most creative and accomplished culinary taste-makers, food innovators, cookbook authors and entrepreneurs.
Cherie has been a long-time subscriber of MSMT and her daughter, Sophia, has acted in many MSMT shows.
A slate of new officers was sworn in during the theatre’s annual meeting including Andrew T. Masland (Topsham) as president, Brandon Mazer (Portland) as vice president, Elena Vandervoort (Bath) as executive at large, Deborah Peet (Brunswick) as secretary, and Thomas M. Pierce (Portland) as treasurer.
Now moving into its 63rd year, Maine State Music Theatre produces four main stage musicals, three Theatre for Young Audiences musicals, and three Monday Concerts each summer at the Pickard Theater on the beautiful campus of Bowdoin College. Learn more online at www.msmt.org
