Maybe a split rail fence?
Dear Editor:
I think the Ancient Cemetery looks odd with no barrier between the sacred ground and the sidewalk. Given the number of people with dogs walking past the area, isn’t there some kind of simple wood fencing that indicates that the cemetery is an historic area, not a park or part of someone’s property?
I realize a detailed plan exists for an decorative enclosure with a gate, etc. I also realize structural changes take a lot of time to complete, especially lately. Maybe the Cemetery Committee could consider a split rail fence or something in keeping with the dates of the headstones?
