Youth auditions for ‘Oklahoma’ at Heartwood
Lincoln Academy (LA) and Heartwood Regional Theater Company announce their 19th Annual Student Collaboration, the musical “Oklahoma!” scheduled for fall 2021.
Auditions are open to high school students from any Midcoast school or homeschool, and 7th or 8th grade students with stage or vocal/dance experience.
Auditions are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20, from 2-5 p.m. in the Poe Theater, (81 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle) at Lincoln Academy. The cast will be comprised of eight principal singers, along with as many as 16 additional roles for students of varying vocal and dance training.
This production will strongly reflect the highly regarded 2019 Broadway Revival of the original Rodgers and Hammerstein production, which opened in 1943. The production will be less traditional than the original, with very interesting music and a strong emphasis on the dramatic story arc.
Heartwood and LA are pleased to offer another opportunity for students to excel and grow from a strong ensemble experience, with instruction and coaching from a top-notch production staff: Griff Braley, director; Michelle Bruckner, choreographer; Emily Anderson, music director; Guy Scott and Sean Fleming, music; Ryan Kohnert, tech director; Heidi Kopishke, costumer.
Full audition details are available at www.heartwoodtheater.org; questions may be emailed to Director Griff Braley – braley@lincolnacademy.org.
