Congressional candidate hosting Meet and Greet’
A retired Navy SEAL is seek election as Maine’s First District Congressman. Ed Thelander of Bristol is seeking the Republican nomination next June with hopes of defeating seven-term First District Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) next November.
Thelander will hold a “Meet and Greet” in Boothbay Harbor at Brady’s from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16. Thelander spent 21 years in Navy SEAL teams. In 2006, he moved his family to Maine for his last duty station at the Navy Survival School.
As a candidate, Thelander says he believes in teamwork and knows that finding common ground without comprising core values is the the way to success. In retirement, he still serves a military consultant.
Thelander formerly lived in Alna where he served as a volunteer firefighter. When he moved to Bristol, he joined the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office as a reserve deputy. He currently serves as a volunteer for various veterans projects. For more information call Dawn Gilbert at 207-633-4500.
