Carol C. Wandeloski
Carol Christine (Wallner) Wandeloski, 82, passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 4, 2022. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 59 years, Walter R Wandeloski in June of 2017. The couple made their loving home and family in Greenfield, Massachusetts.
Carol was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on Dec. 25, 1939. She was the middle of five children of the late Mary (Zagata) and the late William Wallner. She graduated in 1957 from Greenfield High School. Before settling down, Carol worked as a dental assistant and then for the child welfare department.
Carol’s love for children led her to adopt two before being blessed with one of her own. She spent decades volunteering in the local schools and the local hockey association, effortlessly running it for years; making hockey friends all over New England and Canada. She welcomed countless children (and adults) into her loving home, caring for and loving each one of them. Always there to make you smile. Her door was always open. Her family (extended included) was her world.
Her love for cooking and entertaining was to be marveled. She could whip up a quick “seven course meal” like no one’s business. Her chocolate mousse was looked forward to every Christmas as well as so many others delicious creations.
Carol loved vacationing! Didn’t matter where or when, she was always up for the adventure. The countless epic camping trips, picnics, going to the Cape, Michigan, Boothbay Harbor, up to camp, and of course, her annual vacation with her sisters (partners in crime).
She enjoyed gardening and was very crafty and resourceful. She had a strong, determined way about her and always made sure that those around her had a full belly and didn’t want for anything. Always putting others needs before her own. She will be dearly missed by all those that she has touched.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband and brother William Wallner Jr. of Conneticut.
She is survived by her three sisters and best friends, Marie Campbell of Greenfield, Massachusetts, Virginia Wesoloski of South Deerfield, Massachusetts and Joan Wenzel of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts; her eldest son, Richard Wandeloski of Vermont and Tracey Field of Vermont; her daughter, Mary Norwood and her husband Jeffrey of Boothbay; her son, William Wandeloski and his wife Lynette of New Milford, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Scott, Tim and Kevin Norwood, Chris, Dan and Meg Wandeloski, and Wreden and Connor Wandeloski; and three great-grandchildren; umerous nieces and nephews, as well as many, many others she “adopted” and who “adopted” her along the way.
The family can’t thank the staff at St Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. You have our eternal gratitude for taking such wonderful care of our dear mother as if she was your own.
Her final resting place will be alongside her husband, mother and father at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield, Massachusetts. There will be a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Shriner’s Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts or get yourself some flowers and enjoy them in her memory (roses were her favorite)!
Hall’s of Boothbay has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, please visit hallfuneralhomes.com
