Must be able to work Monday through Friday schedule from June 21 through August 18. Camp training June 12-16th in the evening.

Pay: $17.00 per hour.

Camp counselors provide a safe, nurturing and positive environment for all camp participants, ensuring that campers have a fun and enriching experience. By leading by example, counselors shall teach the campers the importance of the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.

This is a great summer job for students considering a career in education to gain valuable experience in the field. Spend your summer outdoors being active, having fun and making a positive difference in the lives on the kids in our community.

Work daytime hours Monday through Friday with weekends off.

We prefer camp counselors to have a lifeguard certification and will pay for the course for qualified applicants. Counselors with lifeguard certification earn $1 per hour more than counselors without the certification.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 17 years of age.

High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.

Experience working with children preferably in a day camp setting.

Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.

Demonstrated maturity to handle the responsibilities involved in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all participants
