BRAF August members show: ‘Something for Everyone’
Boothbay Region Art Foundation’s newly-installed Members’ Show seems to define creative diversity coupled with the saying “great minds think alike.” As such, our featured artists are the sum total of 90 local and regional artists who deliver an entertaining variety of mediums, styles, and themes.
In addition to the regular members’ show, BRAF is sponsoring two solo-artists-shows in the upstairs rooms.
Pemaquid artist Marcia Brandwein, has installed a collection of her oil and pastel paintings in the Harbor View Room called “Great Outdoors.” This body of work expresses the source of Marcia’s inspiration, stemming from all things Maine.
In the upstairs Gallery One Room, Suzanne Marinell, a long-time Squirrel Islander, has selected a grouping of her watercolors and melted-crayon works entitled “Contemplations of Maine.”
Our foundation continues to feature a swinging door of donated 12” by 12” canvases, painted by artist/members to help cover our overhead costs.
We are a non-profit members’ gallery with a mission “to create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn from, and participate in the visual arts,” a promise which has kept us in business for 60 years.
Please visit our gallery, located at 1 Townsend Ave. in downtown Boothbay Harbor. Open hours are Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Please join us on First Friday, Aug. 4 for an Open House and refreshments served from 5 to 7 p.m.
