Now Hiring for the 2023-24 School Year - Afterschool Program Staff-Part Time-Rockport, Rockland, Thomaston, Owls Head, Lincolnville

Work afternoons Monday through Friday. No nights, no weekends. Position hours and days follow the school calendar.

Approximately 17 hours/week, 2:00pm until 5:30pm, Monday-Friday

Starting pay $18.00/hour

Now is your chance, by working at the YMCA after-school program with children in grades K-5. Help implement high quality after-school programming that focuses on social responsibility and health living. Our after-school programs promote physical activity, STEAM activities and time to do homework. The successful candidate will provide supervision while being able to lead activities such as games, sports, crafts and planned STEAM activities. Active engagement with the children in the program is paramount to the success of the entire after-school program. Provide an emotionally and physically safe environment for all participants.
Help to develop and implement a high quality After School Program that incorporates both physical activity and enrichment activities. Implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and staff.
Complies with all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards. Cares for facilities and equipment ensuring materials and furniture are neatly put away at the end of each day.
Attends staff meetings and trainings.
Assists with Vacation Camp and Snow Camp programs when the Afterschool Program is not in session.
Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 16 years of age
Previous experience working with children preferred
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date. We will provide this training.

Benefits
$200 monthly stipend, paid time off plus complimentary use of facilities and programs with part-time employment.
