Register now for Oct.12 Conservation Bus Tour of Lincoln County
We are excited to bring back our Conservation Bus Tour traveling through Lincoln County on Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From coastal communities to bucolic farmlands lands, Lincoln County offers a snapshot of the best of Maine. We will highlight four local producers passionate about their conservation practices ensuring soil health, water quality and abundant habitat for wildlife. The luxury air-conditioned motor coach ride will be narrated, snacks served, and we will enjoy a catered lunch.
Participants will see conservation practices in action, learn about mitigation of invasive plant species, experience working farms, and enjoy local agricultural products. Speakers at Singing Pastures Farm,
Meadowcroft Farm, Wanderwood and Spear Farm will explain their approach to conservation practices.
We will begin our tour visiting a regenerative family farm, Singing Pastures Farm. Singing Pastures Farm offers certified pasture raised and antibiotic-free pork along with intentionally created meadow habitat for native birds, especially Bobolinks. Our second stop will be to visit Meadowcroft Farm & Sea Colors Yarnery in Washington. Sustainability, bioregionalism, sheep and yarn are among the highlights. We will travel to Wanderwood, a working farm and event center nestled in the woods of Nobleboro that provides an idyllic setting for family gatherings, weddings, farm dinners and more. You will see the results first-hand of their conservation practices. Our last stop is a five-generation family farm operation, Spear Farm. Spear Farm provides fresh fruits and vegetables daily to consumers in mid-coast Maine. Over 600 acres are farmed for beef, vegetables and flowers.
Pre-registration is required by Sept. 30. Register today as seats fill up quickly! Cost of the tour is only $85 per person (mail-in) / $88 (online) and includes all food and travel.
