Robert Murphy
Robert Murphy passed early in the morning of Oct. 18, 2023 after a difficult battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 30, 1964, and along with his twin brother and given up for adoption directly after being born. Both Rob and his brother were adopted by Gerald and Alice Murphy late of Boothbay.
Rob was a very knowledgeable and witty individual, always willing to offer ideas and suggestions on how things should be done. His ability to shift from subject to subject without missing any parts of a conversation left you with the feeling of being heard. He was constantly learning everything he could about the projects and hobbies that he might be involved in at any given moment, whether it be classic British sports cars or one of the many different brands of motorcycles that he owned through his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Brown Murphy of Brunswick; his children Caitlin Murphy and boyfriend Chad Murray of Boothbay, Ryan Murphy and wife Laura of Edgecomb, Kari Newcomb of Topsham, and Brian Hubbard of Topsham; grandchildren Laila, James, Oliver, and Keely; his twin brother Russ Murphy with wife Denise Murphy of Virginia Beach, Virgina; sister Michelle Zonneveld and husband Trevor of Lacey, Washington, Danny Murphy and Misty Brown of Edgecomb and Mark Murphy with his girlfriend Julie Wright Kaplinger of South Bristol; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
At this time, per Rob’s request there will not be any funeral service but instead there will be a celebration of life to be held in the upcoming May.
