Holiday Potluck, Carol Sing with Kevin Kiley & Friends
Potluck dinner gatherings are a staple of small town Maine, while Christmas caroling with a group may be more a thing of the past. On Wednesday, Dec. 20, the historic Opera House in Boothbay Harbor will combine both old-time community events in celebration of the holiday season. Doors for the potluck dinner open at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner planned for 6, followed by music of the season.
The evening takes place amidst the stunningly decorated Opera House.
After dinner, the Opera House’s technical director, Kevin Kiley, will don his pianist’s hat and take to the magically decorated stage alongside vocalists John Adams, Kelly Caufield, Devin Dukes, Jason Hersom, Abbey Hutchins, Lynne McGhee and Tommy Waltz. The vocalists will perform favorite holiday songs, and lead the group in selected carols.
Those attending the potluck dinner are asked to bring a main dish, side dish, salad or a favorite holiday dessert. The bar will open at 5:30 and will be serving beer and wine and soft drinks before dinner. In compliance with the Opera House’s liquor license, no additional beverages may be brought into the Opera House.
No tickets are required. Those interested in only attending the caroling concert should plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m. For additional information call 207-633-6855.
