Gardening books at Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop are on sale at half-price, from March 5 through March 19.

In announcing the sale, Rosie Bensen, co-manager of the shop,  said “Now is the time of year when gardeners start planning their gardens. We have dozens of books that could help.”

The shop offers books in many categories, including annual and perennial flowers; garden design and landscaping; organic vegetables gardening; houseplants and container gardening; and tips for insect and weed control.

The book shop, located at 17 Backstreet Landing in downtown Damariscotta, is open every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All items are donated, all staff members are volunteers, and all proceeds support the collections and programs of Skidompha Public Library. Donations are accepted whenever the shop is open.
