Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association to host ‘Go Fish!’ auction, fundraiser
The Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association is hosting its Go Fish! auction fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the magical SaltWater Fields venue in South Thomaston, located on the Saint George River.
Enjoy a cocktail hour featuring fresh local seafood including Maine lobster and haddock along with MCFA’s collaborative seafood products - Monkfish Stew and Smoked Maine Pollock Dip. Guests will also get to sample hake cakes, a new product in development for K-12 schools produced by nearby Graffam Brothers Seafood, as well as a raw bar with fresh oysters shucked by Lady Shuckers. A highlight of the event will be live music from special guests the Adam Ezra Group, named Americana Act of the Year at the 2023 New England Music Awards.
The main event of the evening will be a live auction, led by stellar auctioneer Bruce Gamage and MCFA Board member Kevin Lipson, that will include fine art, jewelry, unique Maine experiences, luxury hotel stays and more.
The event is generously sponsored by Mack Boring Parts & Co., National Fisherman, 250 Main Hotel, and The Inn at Ocean’s Edge.
Proceeds will help MCFA deal a better hand for Maine fishermen and families, many of whom were significantly impacted by January’s storms. Our community programs help fishermen access fisheries, protect working waterfronts, build resilient businesses, donate fish to feed hungry Mainers, and access resources to promote health and safety at sea.
Please join us for an evening of live music, delicious seafood, and friendly bidding to support Maine’s community fishermen. Together, we persevere.
