LincolnHealth readies for new CT Scanner
LincolnHealth is adding yet another state-of-the-art imaging tool to its diagnostic imaging services.
The Revolution Ascend CT Scanner brings many additional features over the hospital’s previous model, which has reached the end of its recommended years of use. The Ascent offers AI technology to simplify and streamline the CT experience. A wider opening, a lower radiation dose and improved image quality are all patient benefits that come with this new scanner.
In addition, LincolnHealth will be able to offer additional imaging procedures, including brain perfusion and cardiac scoring.
The installation process is expected to be completed in early November. Until then, a portable CT scanner will be parked in front of the new MRI unit, causing parking to be a little tighter than usual. From 6-10 spaces will likely be lost during the project.
“We’re very excited about this significant upgrade in technology, and we apologize for any inconvenience our patients may experience as a result of this construction,” said Cindy Wade, LincolnHealth’s president. “We have taken several steps to expand patient parking over the last few years, including eliminating employee parking in front of the Watson Center, establishing a shuttle service for our team members, adding a staff parking lot and transitioning employee parking to spaces that are farthest away from the hospital. Parking has been a challenge for quite some time, and we continue to look for a more permanent solution.”
The addition of the state-of-the-art scanner is the second substantial improvement in diagnostic imaging in the last two years. Last summer, the permanent MRI was added to the facility, removing the need for a portable MRI unit.
