In what has become an annual theater highlight in this community, Lincoln Academy (LA) and Heartwood Theater present their 22^nd collaborative production in LA’s Poe Theater, Oct. 25 – Nov. 2.  Under the direction of Griff Braley, a dedicated high school cast and crew are deep in rehearsals, preparing to open William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”.

"This is a play most LA students are familiar with, being part of the English curriculum," notes Braley, also an LA teacher.  "Last spring, while discussing possible productions for this fall, students expressed an interest in 'Macbeth.'  There is no more challenging training opportunity for acting students than to tackle Shakespeare's demanding language and emotional situations.  So, we decided to dive into this one. Much of the cast is new to the Poe stage, while others are very experienced, so we have a dynamic learning situation and we hope audiences will be pleased with the result.”  

Five evening performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. - Friday, Oct. 25, Saturday, Oct. 26, Thursday, Oct. 31, Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 in the Parker Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy.  Reservations open Oct. 15 and are strongly suggested, by emailing info@heartwoodtheater.org or phoning 207-563-1373.
