River Arts in Damariscotta is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for artists to kick off the new year and participate in an upcoming "Members’ Show." All current and new members are invited to submit one piece for this non-juried exhibition.

Deadline for entries is Saturday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. The show will run Jan. 14 through Feb. 22. There will be a gala opening reception on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m.

This is a great time to become a member and join the River Arts’ community. The “Members’ Show” celebrates the talent of River Arts’ member artists and showcases the wide range of art being created in Maine.

River Arts welcomes all media, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, fiber, photography, ceramics, original print making, drawing, encaustic and pastel. Works may be representational or abstract. The “Members’ Show” offers an opportunity for artists to submit work which best represents their style for an impressive salon style exhibition.

All submitted works must be for sale and River Arts retains 35% commission on sold works. Entry and membership forms are available at the gallery or online at riverartsme.org.

Submissions: Open to all current and new members. Artwork is being accepted at the gallery from now until the deadline Saturday, Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. Artists may submit one piece measuring no larger than 30 inches in height or width including frame.

Membership: Annual dues for individual artists are $60 or a household membership is $90. Check with us to see if your membership is still active.

New artists are encouraged to sign up now!

Entry Fee: There is a $15 hanging fee for participating in the Members’ Show.
