Come explore with us at this fun and engaging workshop dedicated to right hand ukelele technique. The Feb. 22 session will cover essential picking patterns and apply them to actual songs from simple folk songs to sophisticated classical pieces to pop music.

Fingerstyle ukulele is a natural progression for players wanting to move beyond simple songs with a few chords. The result is a fuller sound and more complex presentation. Fingerstyle opens new possibilities, including the ability to play chords and melodies simultaneously, much like a solo pianist. Once fingerstyle patterns are understood and mastered, the student will be able to pick folk songs, rock, jazz, classical, and more – everything from the Beatles to Bach to Jake Shimabukuro.

The workshop is open to all except absolute beginners. Loaner ukeleles are available with advance notice. The fee is $20. To reserve your spot, email: susan.m@baychamber.org.
