Throughout the year the historic Opera House in Boothbay Harbor plays host to everything from school age performers to nationally touring Grammy award winning acts. This winter the popular Open Mic series returns to the upstairs bar at the Opera House. The first Friday of each month this February, March and April, talents young and old are encouraged to come share their music or cheer on those who are at the mic.

Sign-ups begin when the doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the mic goes live this Friday, Feb. 7 at 6.

Box office manager Eric Lowe will be wearing a different hat tonight as he emcees Open Mic. A $5 cover charge is requested at the door to help defray winter maintenance costs at the Opera House. The volunteer Friends of the Opera House will have chili and cornbread, and coffee and dessert available for sale. The bar will be serving drinks and will open at 5:30. Please do not bring food or beverages to the Opera House.

The Opera House is located at 86 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor. Free parking for those attending Open Mic is available in the Opera House parking lot.
