Call for art from River Arts
River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for the upcoming juried show, “New Works.” This exhibition will showcase artists' recent fresh and current works. Pieces that have been created in the last twelve months may be entered. This show is open to members and non-members alike.
River Arts is pleased to announce Susan Akers will jury “New Works.” Sculptor and two-dimensional artist, Susan Akers, owns and manages the Triangle Gallery in Rockland. Known for featuring contemporary art by emerging and established artists, Akers brings experience with current trends to River Arts.
“New Works” is open to all media, including original work in painting, sculpture, fiber, photog-raphy, ceramics, original print making, drawing, encaustic, pastel, glass, and mixed media. The entry fee for “New Works” is $15 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
All entries for “New Works” must be gallery ready, clean, and wired for hanging. Artists may enter two pieces up to 24 inches (in any direction) including frame or one piece up to 50 inches (in any direction) including frame. All submitted works must be for sale and River Arts retains 35% commission on sold works. Entry forms are available at the gallery or online at www.riverartsme.org.
Notification of juror’s selections will be posted by Wednesday, April 9. Unaccepted work should be picked up promptly during gallery hours. Submissions may be delivered to the gallery from now until the deadline Saturday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
“New Works” will run from April 8 to May 24. A reception will be held on April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. River Arts is located at 36 Elm St. in Damariscotta.
