Dear Editor:

We encourage Alna residents to elect Sherry Lyons to represent the town on the Sheepscot Valley RSU 12 School Board. We’ve known Sherry for the past two years as a neighbor and an enthusiastic volunteer for Alna’s Climate Resilience Committee, Roads Committee, and Food Pantry. 

Sherry brings years of experience in education, both as a parent of two and a former teacher. She earned a master’s in education in arts and learning and taught special needs children from a wide variety of backgrounds in preschool, and grades three and four. She worked cooperatively with administrators, other teachers, parents, occupational therapists, and counselors to ensure the best outcome for those students.  

Alna is fortunate to have someone with the educational expertise of Sherry Lyons. We’re especially lucky that she is willing to volunteer her time on behalf of Alna families. We urge you to vote for Sherry Lyons on March 28 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to serve on the RSU 12 School Board.
