Running for Edgecomb selectman
Dear Editor:
I'd like to announce that I am running for selectman of the town of Edgecomb, Maine.
I have lived in Edgecomb for 30 years and care deeply about the town and everyone in it. Currently, I serve as town constable, secretary of the Edgecomb Historical Society, and firefighter/EMT in the Edgecomb Fire Department. I attended Edgecomb Eddy School in the 90s, and my two children are students there now. The school is the heart of our town, and it adds a great deal to our community in so many ways.
Besides having a strong and lasting connection to this town, I also have various types of leadership experience. I value diplomacy and see issues from many different frames of reference, often bridging the gap between varying points of view. I always make the effort to approach negotiations with an open mind and a level head.
My focus is on quickly identifying the source of problems and immediately finding solutions to them. One of my defining features is an immense distaste for waste and inefficiency. I feel that all of these qualities could be great assets to the town, and I'm eager to prove that over the coming years.
Please reach out to me any time if you have questions, concerns, or would like to help in my campaign. I would love the chance to earn your vote, which will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at the Edgecomb Town Hall. Thank you!
Forrest Carver
