Wiscasset had the flag at the municipal building at half-staff and a memorial display in the fire department lot facing Route 1 Monday morning in honor of 9/11.
An American flag hung from the top of the ladder on the ladder truck. The display at the truck’s front included boots and two helmets and firefighter coats including Fire Chief T.J. Merry’s.
Merry said Monday, the firefighters continue to do the display each year in remembrance of their fallen brothers and sisters.
Gov. Paul LePage directed that American and Maine flags be flown at half-staff Monday, the governor’s office states at Maine.gov
