As the heir to a three-generation dynasty of American painters, Jamie Wyeth has forged his own distinct path in the art world. His work spans iconic figures like John F. Kennedy, Andy Warhol, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Rudolf Nureyev, as well as intimate depictions of animals, Maine’s islands, and personal memories—all through a unique and sometimes unsettling lens. Jamie Wyeth and the Unflinching Eye, the first feature-length documentary on the artist, delves into his life, exploring his struggles and triumphs amid the cultural and political upheavals from the 1960s to the present. Directed by Glenn Holsten.
"You don't have to be passionate about painting to be captivated by this well-edited and heartfelt documentary, but it might inspire you to pick up a paintbrush or, at the very least, to seek out Jamie Wyeth's paintings at a museum."
